Fancy Text Generator

Type once and get bold, italic, script, fraktur, double-struck, bubble, small caps, upside-down and more — each ready to copy into your bio, caption or username.

Letters A–Z and digits are restyled; anything else is kept as it is.0 characters

Before you paste

  • These aren't fonts. Each letter is swapped for a different Unicode symbol, mostly from the Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols block, which is why they survive copy and paste.
  • Screen readers struggle. Many read them as “mathematical bold capital H…” or skip them. Keep your name and key info in plain text.
  • Search may not match them. 𝐜𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐞 is not the same text as coffee, so search engines and in-app search may not find it.
  • Some devices show boxes. Older phones and some fonts lack these characters, and many count 2 towards a character limit.

How fancy text works

Unicode includes complete styled alphabets for mathematics — bold, italic, script, fraktur, double-struck, sans-serif and monospace, from U+1D400 to U+1D7FF. The generator swaps each letter A–Z, a–z (and digits where a styled digit exists) for its counterpart. Bold capital A is U+1D400, bold small a is U+1D41A, and so on in runs of 26.

Other styles use other blocks: circled letters (Ⓐ), negative circled and squared letters (🅐 🄰 🅰), fullwidth forms (A), phonetic small capitals (ᴀ), modifier letters for superscript (ᵃ), and combining marks for strikethrough (U+0336) and underline (U+0332).

Worked example

“Hello” in bold is 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨: 5 characters you see, but 10 UTF-16 code units, because every math letter lies outside the Basic Multilingual Plane.

In script it's ℋℯ𝓁𝓁ℴ — the H, e and o come from the older Letterlike Symbols block (U+210B U+212F U+2134), because the matching slots in the math block are deliberately left empty.

All styles at a glance

“Fancy Text 2026” is 15 characters in plain text. The UTF-16 column is what JavaScript, many websites' maxlength and some apps count.

Frequently asked questions

Are these real fonts?+

No. They're Unicode characters that look like styled letters — 𝐁 is “mathematical bold capital B” (U+1D401), a different character from B. Because they're characters rather than formatting, they keep their look when pasted into Instagram, TikTok, X or Discord, where you can't choose a font.

Why are some script and fraktur letters different?+

Some letters already existed in Unicode's Letterlike Symbols block before the math alphabets were added — ℬ, ℰ, ℱ, ℋ, ℐ, ℒ, ℳ, ℛ, ℯ, ℊ and ℴ for script, ℭ, ℌ, ℑ, ℜ, ℨ for fraktur and ℂ, ℍ, ℕ, ℙ, ℚ, ℝ, ℤ for double-struck. Their slots in the math block are left empty, so the generator uses the older characters, which can look slightly different.

Will fancy text work in my Instagram or TikTok bio?+

It usually pastes fine, but it can count against limits differently: each math-style letter is 1 visible character but 2 UTF-16 code units, so “𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨” is 5 characters to you and 10 to any site that counts like JavaScript. Check the per-style count before pasting into a 150-character bio.

Is fancy text bad for accessibility?+

Often, yes. Screen readers may announce every letter's Unicode name or skip it entirely, so a bio in 𝓈𝒸𝓇𝒾𝓅𝓉 can be unreadable to blind users. Use it for a word or two of decoration and keep your name, links and important details in plain text.

Do search engines index fancy text?+

They may not treat it as the same word. Google normalises some of these characters but not reliably, and in-app search on social platforms often doesn't — so someone searching for “coffee” may not find 𝐜𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐞. Keep keywords and your name in normal letters.

Why do I see boxes or question marks?+

The device's fonts don't include that character. The math alphabets are well supported on current phones and computers, but small caps letters such as ꞯ, flipped letters and negative squared letters are missing from some fonts. Characters without a styled version, like accented letters, are passed through unchanged.
